Sometimes searchers will narrow down their searches by area.  If you’re in Gloucester and you need an accountant you’re likely to use "accountant Gloucester" as your search term.  

But, as an accountant in Gloucester you may wish not to run the risk of incurring clicks from Inverness which you’ve no way of servicing..

Google allows you to limit impressions of your ad to an area dictated by you.  You can do that by post-code or by stipulating a radius around a fixed point.
